I Made a Jack-O-Lantern!

Upon her return from visiting a local pumpkin patch, our very sweet little neighbor, Katie, brought Elizabeth a small pumpkin to have for her very own! Elizabeth was beyond thrilled, and was very eager to turn it into a Jack-O-Lantern before Halloween!

After listening to Elizabeth tell us "I want to put a face on it!" for about a week, we went through the pumpkin-carving ritual on Thursday evening after Ashley went to bed.

First, we covered the kitchen floor with newspaper, and I asked Elizabeth what kind of Jack-O-Lantern she wanted to make (scary, friendly, spooky, silly, angry)...she chose friendly!

Daddy removed the guts, Mommy separated the seeds,
and Elizabeth danced around the room...

Then Mommy drew the face, Daddy carved it out,
and Elizabeth danced around the room...

Mommy found a candle, Daddy placed it inside and lit it,
and Elizabeth danced around the room...

We set it on the floor and stood back to admire the finished product...
and Elizabeth happily and excitedly declared:

"Look! I made a Jack-O-Lantern!!!!"

Haha! Yeah...sure ya did, kid!

Chillaxin'

Ashley is quite at home these days in the comfy pink tub!

And, somehow, she finds a way to maintain her modesty, while pulling off the "oh-so-chill" vibe...at the same time!

"I Look Like a MOMMY!"

Whether it's wearing Mommy's purse around her neck, wobbling around in Mommy's boots, or piling on Mommy's winter gear (as pictured here!), Elizabeth loooooves to get all gussied up and announce to us: "I look like a Mommy!"

Guess Who's Got the Giggles?

No one...and I do mean NO ONE can make Ashley laugh the way Elizabeth does! Little Sister watches Big Sister's every move. And, even when she doesn't intend to be funny, Elizabeth seems to keep Ashley constantly amused!

Here, Elizabeth is marching in and out of her room as she listens to music just before bedtime...and Ashley just finds the whole display hilarious! Every time Elizabeth comes back into view, Ashley literally can't stop giggling!
