Ashley's Turtle Party
Yesterday was Ashley's 2nd birthday! (I know! Can you believe it?!?!) To celebrate, Elizabeth suggested that we throw a "Turtle Party" in her honor! This, because "turtle" is Elizabeth's favored term of endearment for her little sister.
A precious idea, really...if only the party supply companies were on board! Seriously! Unless you are looking for heroic (menacing?) Turtles of the Teenage Mutant Ninja variety, or the always-precious, but much-too-sophisticated-for-a-toddler designs offered by Lilly Pulitzer, you are pretty much out of luck!
So, we had to get a little creative and go to a combination of ETSY (for cute personalized turtle labels)...
Michael's (for wooden cut-out turtles, pink buckets, and pink grosgrain ribbon)...
Party City (for plain pink plates and printed paisley napkins)...
and BettyCrocker.com (for the turtle cupcake idea!)...
Here's how it turned out all together!
OH!...and the Little Turtle is wearing a turtle tee courtesy of BabyGap! :-)
Our very sweet next door neighbors, Tiffany & Braden, joined us (Mommy, Daddy, Elizabeth, Grandma, and Grandpa) to sing "Happy Birthday" to the Guest of Honor and watch her (and very excited Big Sister!) open all her presents! HAPPY DAY!
Special Note to Grammy: So...it sure is looking like there may be hope for at least ONE grand daughter to follow in your Delta Zeta footsteps?!?! No??? ;-) Somewhere, Mary Collins is surely looking down with a smile!

Such a cute idea! I love turtles, and I think it all came together so well for you. Happy Birthday Ashley!
Wow, I am suitably impressed! You do all that girly girl stuff really well! Looks like a fab party for a special little girl!
